Words- the basic tool of every language which we need to gain the speaking skills. So basicly, If we want to speak, think and listen in English, we need to understand the words and their meaning. Many students of English do not progress much further as the students do not learn their vocabulary well.
How can a student work on a teacher's task if he does not know English words? If he will not learn vocabulary, he will not understand How to make sentences and grammar become his nightmare. Before we get any deeper, let's focus on words.
Words are thoughts
It is very important to understand a word as a thought. Word is a symbol which always has a meaning. We tend to forget this fact when we study words. We just tend to learn them by the written word, and not by a meaning.
When you learn a word, always look for its meaning. A Word always has a meaning.
How to learn a words.
1/ Demonstrate
It is the best way How to learn a new words. How does it work? For example a word Apple. When you learn apple, just look at the real apple How it looks like. It means that when you learn a word, you check it visually. When you see the word personally connected to something it is always better to remeber it. Table - do the same, go to kitchen and look at the table. This is How to learn the words by demonstration. You learn easier and faster, when you can actually see the words in a real meaning.
2/ Make Flash Cards
It is a fun and great way to learn new words. Buy a small notepad and on each page draw a picture, you have a problem with. Then write the word under the picture. When you have drawn all pictures, your personal and original vocabulary is made.
You can carry your notepad with you all a time and when you have a few minutes spare, you can learn your words from it. When you do that 3 times a week for 5 minutes-you make great progress and your teacher will be impressed.
You can also buy a book in a store which is made this way. All you will find there are simple pictures connected with words. I have a few of them. I always carry such books in my handbag.
3/ Imagine your words
When you learning a word Run- imagine someone who is running on a street every morning. When you learning a word funny- try to imagine something, that recently made you laugh. When we use our imagination it can help us to understand the word properly.
4/ Describe a picture
It is a simple way of learning. Take any picture you wish. For example a picture of your face.
Then use a vocabulary and describe with it and write down all the words.
5/ Use students dictionary
